Admissions Policy

Every person, as a child of God, has equal dignity and an inalienable right to an education. Therefore, no qualified student will be denied admission to Sacred Heart Parish School on the basis of sex, race, national origin or handicap (if, with reasonable accommodation, the child's need can be met).

Acceptance of a student into Sacred Heart Parish School means that the family of the student is also accepted into our school community. Students along with their families are expected to reinforce the Christian community at our school. No one will be admitted who, in the judgment of the administration, can not have her/his needs met at Sacred Heart Parish School.

We welcome applications year-round and maintain waiting lists for each grade level. As openings occur, we invite the prospective students to visit the class for a day and complete a placement test.* This visit, testing, report cards from the previous two years and the past two years of standardized tests help us determine if the student will be ready to excel and thrive here. * The placement test is administered on a separate day.

Students applying to the preschool program must be potty trained. Students applying to Transitional Kindergarten will be assessed to determine placement and readiness.

Students applying to Kindergarten will be assessed to determine readiness and must be 5 years old by September 1. There are no exceptions to this timeline.
