Q: What are your school hours?
Sacred Heart remains open in person five days a week. The classroom doors open at 7:30 a.m., and class instruction starts at 8:00 a.m. Preschool provides a half day option and a full day option each day.
Transitional Kindergarten through Eighth grade school hours are from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Q: How many children are in each class?
Small class sizes are important to Sacred Heart Parish School. Currently, 25 students is the cap per classroom. The preschool program hosts a 12:1 ratio following CA Community Care Licensure regulations.
Q: Where can I purchase uniforms?
Uniforms can be purchased from Merry Mart. You can order directly from the Merry Mart website, https://www.merrymartuniforms.com/. Please refer to our complete list of requirements via this link, dress uniform requirements. We hold a used uniform exchange and sale online and at various times throughout the year. Refer to the calendar and Pulse for specific information.
Q: Is it a private school?
A: No, Sacred Heart is a parish school which assists and supports families by providing an education infused with Gospel values.
Q: Do you have to be Catholic?
A: No, but the school is faith-centered and all students take part in religious studies and celebrations. Priority is given to Catholic parishioners during the admissions process.
Q: What non-academic classes do you have?
A: Sacred Heart Parish School is proud of our athletic program for boys and girls which includes volleyball, basketball, soccer, and football. We also offer a Music program that teaches instruments and theory as well as a school choir. Spanish is offered in all grade levels to provide a fundamental understanding of the langauge.
Q: Does the curriculum follow State guidelines?
A: Yes. It also follows the guidelines of the Diocese of Monterey which are based upon State and National standards.
Q: Do you have year-round school?
A: No, we follow the academic school year, currently late August to mid-June.
